Three Lullabies and a Dance
This four-movement suite for cello and guitar explores different states of ensemble interaction through the contrast between the sustained sound of the bowed string and the articulated resonance of the guitar. The first three movements—Adagio, Lento Assai, and Grave—present three distinct approaches to the "lullaby," moving from lyrical intimacy to abstract, sound-sculpted textures. The cycle concludes with a rhythmically sharp Allegretto, focusing on complex synchronization, syncopated structures, and energetic ensemble dialogue. The work serves as a practical environment for testing acoustic balance and coordination within a contemporary chamber setting.
